Last week, the Finger Lakes Regional Economic Development Council (FLREDC) announced that Robert (Bob) Duffy, President of the Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce, has been appointed to serve as Co-Chair of the Council. He replaces Danny Wegman, Chairman of Wegmans Food Markets, who served as the business Co-Chair since the council’s inception in 2011.

The FLREDC is responsible for implementing the state’s effort to generate economic growth and community development in the nine county Finger Lakes region, which includes Genesee, Livingston, Monroe, Ontario, Orleans, Seneca, Wayne, Wyoming and Yates counties.

Bob Duffy has been an active participant in Unshackle Upstate’s work since he joined the Greater Rochester Chamber in 2015. His vision and ability to work with every one of the region’s stakeholders will serve him well in this new role.  We wish him well, and support his efforts to make the Finger Lakes region a better place to live, work, raise a family and run a business.
