According to a report by TRIP, a Washington, DC-based transportation organization, eight percent of New York’s Interstate bridges are structurally deficient, the fourth highest rate in the nation, and seventeen percent of pavement on New York’s Interstate system are in poor or mediocre condition, the tenth highest rate in the nation.

This report is a reminder that – given the advanced age of much of the state’s infrastructure — continued attention and funding for the state’s infrastructure assets are necessary.  Unshackle Upstate will continue to advocate for funding for state and local infrastructure funding.
