Last Friday, the Greater Binghamton Chamber of Commerce announced that Jennifer Conway has been chosen to serve as the group’s new president. She succeeds Lou Santoni, who served as president since 2008, and has been with the chamber for 41 years.
A native Texan, Ms. Conway spent three years as CEO of the Graham (Texas) Chamber of Commerce and Convention and Visitors Bureau. Before that, she spent six years as senior financial analyst for a large nonprofit organization in Fort Worth. But she is not new to Upstate — she is a graduate of the Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University.
Unshackle Upstate was fortunate to have had Lou Santoni serve as one of our founding board members. His knowledge of and concern for employers and job creators in the Southern Tier was unparalleled, and we thank him for his leadership. (The Greater Binghamton Chamber will be holding a retirement reception for Lou on Thursday, April 21st.)
Ms. Conway will begin working alongside Lou today until his retirement. She will officially assume the positions of President and CEO on May 2.
We are looking forward to working with Ms. Conway, and hope that Unshackle Upstate can be a partner in helping her grow the Greater Binghamton Chamber of Commerce, and strengthen the economy of the Southern Tier.
