Gov. Cuomo has scheduled four special elections to be held on April 19 – the same day as the state’s presidential primary – for the following vacant legislative seats:

  • Senate District 9 – Nassau County (formerly held by Republican Dean Skelos)
  • Assembly District 59 – Brooklyn (formerly held by Democrat Roxanne Persaud) – Kings County
  • Assembly District 62 – Staten Island (formerly held by Republican Joseph Borelli)
  • Assembly District 65 – Manhattan (formerly held by Democrat Sheldon Silver)
