Last Wednesday, state Attorney General Eric Schneiderman and daily fantasy sports companies DraftKings and FanDuel appeared in State Supreme Court in Manhattan court over the Attorney General’s efforts to stop the companies from operating in New York.

Schneiderman ordered both companies to stop taking bets from New York customers earlier this month, claiming that daily fantasy sports constitutes illegal gambling under state law.

The companies argue that daily fantasy sports require more skill and less chance than seasonal fantasy sports, and is therefore a game of skill and does not violate New York’s gambling statutes.

The judge did not issue a decision, which allowed the sites to continue operating in the state.
