On Friday, Gov. Cuomo announced that the state has entered into an agreement with Oneida County to transfer the 1,120 acre Oneida County Airport in Oriskany from Oneida County to the State. The State will use the property to grow and enhance first responder training operations at the New York State Preparedness Training Center.
Gov. Cuomo said:
“Our first responders routinely put their health and well-being at risk in order to keep their fellow New Yorkers safe. “This new facility will help ensure they have access to the latest and most up to date training and builds on our commitment to coordinate a more effective and streamlined emergency response at all levels of government. I thank our partners for working together to make this agreement possible”
