On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of this week (October 20, 21 and 22), the state’s 10 Regional Economic Development Councils (REDCs) will present their plans for state economic development assistance in Albany. (See the presentation schedule here.)

On October 20, the Committee for a Strong Economy, the Rochester Business Alliance’s political action committee, hosts its annual Endorsement Night.

On October 21, the Senate Task Force on Workforce Development will hold a forum/town hall Rochester “to examine initiatives and determine best practices for job skill training and re-training programs, and provide recommendations to foster workforce development in New York State.”

Also on October 21, the Assembly committees on Consumer Affairs and Protection and Aging, and the Assembly Subcommittee on Consumer Fraud Protection, will hold a public hearing on “state resource funding to protect consumers, including seniors, from frauds and scams.”

On October 23, the Assembly’s committees on Corporations, Authorities and Commissions and Economic Development, Job Creation, Commerce and Industry will hold a public hearing in New York City “to examine the telecommunications marketplace and the ability of consumers to obtain affordable and high quality cable, broadband, and telephone service.”

On October 26, the Assembly’s Environmental Conservation Committee and Climate Change Work Group are holding a round table “to examine the economic and environmental implications of climate change.”

On October 26 and 27, the Board of Regents holds its next meeting.

On November 12, the Lawsuit Reform Alliance of New York (LRANY) holds its annual meeting in Saratoga.

On December 9, the Buffalo Niagara Partnership holds its ‘Cross Council Agenda Roll Out.
