Governor Suggests He Will Seek Third Term in 2018
Asked by a reporter whether he plans to run for a third term in 2018, Gov. Cuomo said that he is likely to. He said “There is nothing else I’d rather do than what I’m doing, so I plan to stay as long as the people will have me.”
The question was prompted by news reports that other Democrats, including Attorney General Eric Schneiderman, are thinking about running for Governor in 2018. Schneiderman issued a statement in which he said that he is not planning to run for governor in 2018, and that he plans to run for re-election as Attorney General.
