At the end of last week, new Senate Majority Leader John Flanagan (R-Suffolk County) paid a visit to the Syracuse area.

We were pleased to find out that he doesn’t believe that there is an Upstate/Downstate divide in the Senate’s GOP conference, and that he is going to make sure that the concerns of every part of the state are addressed.

We were also pleased to hear Senate Flanagan say that he plans to visit many Upstate communities. This is good news, and Unshackle Upstate hopes to have the opportunity to meet with him at some point in his travels.
