On Thursday, Assemblyman William Scarborough (D-Queens) resigned his Assembly seat and pled guilty to wire fraud and theft in connection to charges that he submitted 174 fraudulent travel vouchers to the state between January 2009 and December 2012, netting more than $50,000 in reimbursements. He will be sentenced in September.

Later in the day, he entered a second guilty plea on state charges that he misused about $40,000 in campaign funds.
