Last Tuesday, hundreds of elected officials and government leaders, past and present, attended the funeral for former Governor Mario Cuomo. His son Andrew, who is in the first weeks of his second term as Governor, delivered a heartfelt eulogy that many say was the best speech he has ever delivered.
In eulogizing his father, Andrew Cuomo touched on personal and professional anecdotes. He called his father his hero, best friend, and mentor. He called him a philosopher, an advocate, and a hard-nosed competitor. He said that the best thing about being elected Governor himself was that it made his father proud.
