George Amedore — 46th Senate District
Republican George Amedore defeated first-term incumbent Democrat Cecilia Tkaczyk in a rematch of their 2012 race. Their 2012 contest, decided by just 18 votes, was one of the closest in the state’s history.
Unshackle Upstate endorsed Amedore in the general election because of his real world experience in running a business, and because of his strong voting record while serving in the Assembly.
Amedore won a special election to serve in the Assembly in 2007. He was twice re-elected to that seat before he gave up the seat to run for the State Senate. He helps run his family’s construction company, Amedore Homes.
His legislative priorities include reducing property taxes, job creation and economic development, reforming Common Core, improving workforce development and training and decreasing the number of regulations on businesses.
