The Assembly Health Committee is holding a series of public hearings on The New York Health plan legislation (A.5389-A/S.2078-A), which would create state single payer health coverage to replace insurance company coverage. The first hearing is on Dec. 4 in Syracuse. Subsequent hearings will be held in Rochester (Dec. 8), Buffalo (Dec. 10), New York City (Dec. 16), Long Island (Dec. 17) and Albany (Jan. 13).
On Wednesday, Dec. 10, the Regional Economic Development Council award presentation will be held in Albany.
Also on Wednesday, Dec. 10, the Assembly Higher Education Committee will hold a public hearing “to examine the New York State Tuition Assistance Program’s effectiveness and explore updates and improvements that could be made to the program.”
On Thursday, Dec. 11, the Assembly Transportation Committee is holding a public hearing in Albany “to review and assess the impact of the 2014-15 State Budget on the NYS Department of Transportation Two-Year Capital Program.”
On Friday, Dec. 12, the Assembly Election Law Committee is holding a public hearing “to examine the implementation and operations of the new compliance unit created within the State Board of Elections in the SFY 2014-15 State Budget.”
The Governor will deliver his 2015 State of the State Address on Wednesday, January 7.
On Thursday, Jan. 8, the Buffalo-Niagara Partnership holds its 2015 Regional Agenda Rollout & Public Officials Reception. (The event was postponed due to the recent snow storm.)
The Governor must present his 2015-16 Executive Budget proposal to the Legislature by Tuesday, January 20th.
