Siena Polls Show Senate Races Tighten Across State

Siena Research Institute released a series of polls over the weekend that show races have tightened in 2 key Upstate Senate races while Republican former Assemblyman George Amedore maintained his lead over Democratic incumbent Senator Cecilia Tkaczyk in an Albany-area seat.

41st District (Hudson Valley) – Democratic incumbent Senator Terry Gipson has closed the 12 point lead his challenger, Republican Dutchess County Legislator Sue Serino, held just 3 short weeks ago and now trails by 2 points.

46th District (Albany area and Hudson Valley) – Republican George Amedore continues to lead his opponent, Senator Cecilia Tkaczyk, by double digits (54-43), barely moving the needle from the last poll taken 4 weeks ago (52-42).

55th District (Rochester area) – Senator Ted O’Brien has made up a lot of ground since Siena last tested this district in the beginning of October.  Republican challenger Rich Funke’s lead has been cut down to 9 as O’Brien trails 51-42 heading into Election Day.

Unshackle Upstate has endorsed both Amedore and Serino and will be working hard to help them through Tuesday’s election.
