On Wednesday, Nov. 19, the Empire Center hosts an event titled The Road Ahead: Renewing New York’s Highway Infrastructure. The group is bringing together leading transportation policy experts to discuss the upcoming update of the state’s five-year transportation capital plan.

Also on Nov. 19, the Division of Budget is holding formal public hearings on the FY 2016 Executive Budget, including agency and capital budgets. “At the hearings, selected agency heads will outline their budget requests for the upcoming fiscal year. Members of the Legislature and their staffs will be invited to participate and ask questions.”

On Nov. 21, the Assembly committees on Governmental Operations, Veterans Affairs and Small Business are holding a public hearing to “examine the implementation of the Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Business Act enacted as part of the FY 2014-2015 Budget.”

On Monday, Nov. 24, the Buffalo Niagara Partnership will hold its 2015 Regional Agenda Rollout & Public Officials Reception.

The Assembly Health Committee is holding a series of public hearings on The New York Health plan legislation (A.5389-A/S.2078-A), which would create state single payer health coverage to replace insurance company coverage. The first hearing is on Dec. 4 in Syracuse. Subsequent hearings will be held in Rochester (Dec. 8), Buffalo (Dec. 10), New York City (Dec. 16), Long Island (Dec. 17) and Albany (Jan. 13).
