Governor’s New Commercial Speaks to Female Voters

Last weekend, Gov. Cuomo’s re-election campaign released a television ad featuring the Governor’s three daughters and his partner Sandra Lee touting his campaign’s effort to create a permanent Women’s Equality Party in November.

Astorino Calls for Term Limits

Republican gubernatorial candidate Rob Astorino said this week that if he is elected, he will push for term limits for the governor, attorney general, state comptroller and all state lawmakers. He said that he would push for term limits in his first year as governor, calling a special session of the Legislature to vote on the issue and taking the push to the voters in a ballot initiative if that failed.

Governor Visits Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico

Gov. Cuomo travelled to the Caribbean this week, making campaign visits to the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico. He said that he would visit both places as “a sign of respect” for their many ties to New York, and that he planned to meet with local leaders during his trip. Over a million New Yorkers are of Puerto Rican or Dominican heritage.

Pro-Charter group Ties Senate Democratic Candidates to de Blasio

New Yorkers for a Balanced Albany, an independent expenditure political action committee funded largely by a group of charter school supporters, has begun running television ads that tie three Senate Democratic candidates to New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio. The ads support Republican candidates Tom Croci in Long Island’s 3rd Senate District, Sue Serino in in the Hudson Valley’s 41st  S.D., and Terrence Murphy in the 40th S.D.
