Last week, hosting the first Global NY Summit on World Trade and Investment in Manhattan, Gov. Cuomo announced a number of new “GLOBAL NY” initiatives that are intended to help create new jobs and attract international business investment to the state.
He announced that he will ask the Legislature to establish a $35 million Global NY Development Fund tohelp small- and medium-sized New York companies tap into global markets to grow their exports. He also announced that the state will participate in five new trade missions, to expand export and international investment opportunities, to Mexico, Canada, Italy, China, and Israel.
He also announced the launch of the global.ny.gov web site to serve as a “one stop shop” for foreign businesses looking to invest in New York, and for local businesses seeking to export their products and services.
