The Business Council of New York State (BCNYS) has released its 2014 Legislative Scorecard. The group found the 2014 session to be one of the best since it began scoring them in 2008.

The Legislature approved 14 bills that the Business Council supported, including repeal of the Wage Theft Reform Act’s annual notice requirement, extension of the brownfield tax credit program and a state budget that limited the spending increase to less than 2%. The Legislature passed eight bills that the council opposed, including paid family leave and an expansion of the state’s “whistle-blower” statute.
