Buffalo-Niagara Partnership Endorses Mark Grisanti

Last Tuesday, the Buffalo Niagara Partnership (BNP) State Senator Mark Grisanti (R-Buffalo) for re-election.  BNP cited his work on extending the state’s Brownfield tax credit program, historic preservation tax credits, and providing tax relief for manufactures.

Cuomo Campaign Challenges Teachout’s Residency                                                     

Last week, a State Supreme Court judge in Brooklyn heard arguments in a challenge – brought by the Cuomo re-election campaign – to the state residency of Zephyr Teachout, one of his potential primary opponents.

The argument is that Teachout has not lived in New York State long enough to run for Governor.  The State Constitution requires candidates for Governor to have lived in the state for five years in order to be eligible to run.

The Court is expected to issue a ruling late Monday.

Poll:  Governor Maintains Large Lead Over Challenger

A Marist poll released last week shows that Gov. Cuomo continues to hold a large lead over Republican candidate Rob Astorino.  The poll, of 1,039 registered voters, shows Cuomo leading Astorino 54%-23%.  With three months to go before Election Day, 54% of New Yorkers say they do not have an opinion of Astorino or have never heard of him.
