Also last Tuesday, Gov. Cuomo announced that the state, through the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA), is making $250 million available through a competitive solicitation to fund large-scale clean energy generation projects such as wind farms, fuel cells, biomass facilities, renewable biogas, and the upgrading of small- to medium-sized hydropower projects. The funds are being provided through the state’s Renewable Portfolio Standard (RPS).

Gov. Cuomo said:

“With access to some of the brightest minds in the country, as well as an abundance of renewal natural resources, New York has been a leader in renewable energy development and is committed to building a diversified, modern power grid.  This investment will help us reach this goal by driving the development of new projects and boosting economic growth in the process.”
