The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) has announced that it will provide state municipal officials with training on the procedures for approving, inspecting and safeguarding solar installations in their respective communities. The training is intended to streamline the local approval process for solar project to help stimulate the adoption of cost-effective solar photo-voltaic (PV) installations.

The authority will also offer training on safety and fire considerations relating to solar PV for firefighters and first responders.
