A Siena Research Institute poll released Monday shows Governor Cuomo is maintaining his commanding lead over Republican Challenger Rob Astorino. If the election were held today, 57 percent of likely voters favor incumbent Governor Andrew Cuomo while 21 percent indicated their support for Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino. Astorino remains largely unknown to two-thirds of respondents.

Democratic incumbents, Attorney General Eric Schneiderman and Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli, also hold significant leads over their GOP challengers, Attorney John Cahill and Onondaga County Comptroller Bob Antonacci, respectively.

The poll also found that 59 percent of New Yorkers want to see the State Senate continue to be controlled by a coalition of Republicans and Democrats, and 55 percent said they would prefer Governor Cuomo refrain from interfering in the Senate leadership battle.
