Last week, Gov. Cuomo announced an agreement with legislative leaders on a bill to follow through on issues identified during the Governor’s Veterans and Military Families Summit.

The agreed-to legislation is intended to ease the transition to a new school for children of military families when they must relocate; reduce the cost of higher education for Veterans receiving benefits under the GI bills; and provide military family members greater flexibility with professional licenses received from other states or jurisdictions.

The bottom line is that we can’t do enough to support the members of our armed forces (and their families) as they return home, or deal with relocation from elsewhere in the country.
