A Siena College poll released on Tuesday shows Gov. Cuomo with a 30 point lead (58% to 28%) over his likely Republican opponent, Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino.

Astorino announced his candidacy last month, but the poll shows that he remains largely unknown to voters across the state – 66% of those either do not know who he is or have no opinion of him.

But the poll also found that if the race includes a Working Families Party candidate who is viewed as more “liberal” or “progressive” than Gov. Cuomo, his lead falls to 15 points.

The poll also showed growing support for hydraulic-fracturing natural gas development, particularly Upstate, where 49% percent of those polled now support hydro-fracking in New York against 43% opposed.
