Last Tuesday, Gov. Cuomo announced that he has appointed Republican political strategist Susan Del Percio to serve as a Special Advisor.  She will focus on “operations and special projects.”


Ms. Del Percio ran Republican John Faso’s 2006 gubernatorial campaign, and served in the administration of New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani as Deputy Commissioner for Finance and Administration. She had been serving as co-director of a recently formed independent group that will seek to elect Republicans to the State Senate.


Last Thursday, Gov. Cuomo announced four additional administration appointments:


–       Kevin Kelly as NYS Homes and Community Renewal Chief Operating Officer.  He previously served as Deputy Commissioner of NYC Business during the Bloomberg Administration

–       Peter Vallone, Jr., as Special Assistant to Commissioner of Dept. of Corrections and Community Supervision. He was previously a New York City Councilman and chaired the Council’s Public Safety Committee.

–       Jamal Othman as Deputy Director of the Division of Veterans’ Affairs. He previously served as Chief of Staff in the New York City Mayor’s Office of Veterans’ Affairs during the Bloomberg administration.

–       Nora Yates as Deputy Director of the Community, Opportunity & Reinvestment Initiative.  A former Empire Fellow, she previously served as Executive Director of the Pride Center of the Capital Region and Field Director for the Empire State Pride Agenda.
