Last Tuesday, Gov. Cuomo released the 21-day amendments to his 2014-15 Executive Budget proposal. Most of the changes are technical in nature.
The Governor submitted to the Legislature an additional Article VII (language) bill, which would establish a veterans contracting program. The bill proposes the creation of a Division of Service-Disabled Veterans’ Business Development within the state’s Office of General Services (OGS) that would administer the program and coordinate with State agencies to help meet a 5% goal in the awarding of State contracts to service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses.
The Governor’s final opportunity to tweak his Executive Budget proposal is in his 30-day amendments, which are due by Feb. 20.
