Last Thursday, the New York State Gaming Commission announced the appointment of the first three members of the Gaming Facility Location Board, which will evaluate casino applications and making selections regarding eligibility to apply for a commercial gaming license in New York State.  The three appointees (of five total) will be formally approved at the next Gaming Commission meeting.

The first three siting board members are:

–       Paul Francis, former state budget director;

–       Stuart Rabinowitz, Hofstra University President; and

–       Bill Thompson, former New York City Comptroller.

The Gaming Commission is expected to issue its request for casino bids in March, with casino locations and licensees to be announced in the early fall.
