On Tuesday, Dec. 10, the Assembly Agriculture Committee and the Assembly Task Force on Food, Farm and Nutrition Policy holds a public hearing in Albany to “review and examine policies, programs and funding promoting New York farm products.”


On Wednesday, Dec. 11, the state will hold its annual Regional Economic Development Council (REDC) award announcements in Albany.


On Thursday, Dec. 12, the Assembly Committees on Economic Development, Job Creation, Commerce and Industry and Committee on Small Business will hold a public hearing to examine the overall impact of the 2013-2014 budget on economic development programs.


Also on Thursday, Dec. 12, the Assembly Higher Education Committee will hold a public hearing in Albany to “examine the impact of the tuition increases authorized by the NY-SUNY 2020 Challenge Grant Program (Chapter 260 of the Laws of 2011) on New York’s public university systems and their use of State Aid provided in the 2013-14 State budget.”


The state Board of Regents holds its next meeting in Albany on Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 16and 17.


On Wednesday, Dec 18, Assembly Health Committee will hold a public hearing in Mineola “to receive comment on proposed legislation that would authorize medical use of marijuana.”


On Thursday, Dec. 19, the Public Service Commission meets in Albany.


Gov. Cuomo will deliver the 2014 State of the State Address on Wednesday, January 8.


The last day for submission of the proposed 2014-15 Executive Budget is Tuesday, January 21.
