Last week, the Civil Service Employees Association filed a lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of layoffs at the Thruway Authority and the Canal Corporations. The lawsuit claims that its members were penalized for joining and participating in a union.
Apparently, CSEA is bent out of shape that only union members were targeted for lay-offs.
If that is true, the union may have a point. We’d love to see the top-heavy Thruway Authority lose some of its high paid, politically-connected employees. Not to mention some high-paid consultants.
