Last week, Verizon said that it has named Leecia Eve, who currently serves as Gov. Cuomo’s Deputy Secretary for Economic Development, as a vice president of government affairs. She will be responsible for public policy, government and external affairs, and regulatory matters in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.
A Buffalo native, she serves as Gov. Cuomo’s primary economic development adviser. She previously served as executive vice president and general counsel of Empire State Development (ESD), New York’s economic development agency, as counsel and homeland security adviser to Hillary Rodham Clinton when she was a U.S. senator, and as counsel to Vice President Joseph Biden when he was a U.S. Senator.
We have had the pleasure of working with Leecia on a number of important initiatives. She is a true professional, always willing to listen and willing to push for ESD to be more open to change. Leecia leaves some big shoes to fill within the Governor’s team. We wish her only the best as she leaves to join Verizon.
