Last Thursday, Gov. Cuomo indicated that he has agreed to restore funding – which was cut in the current state budget – to nonprofit organizations that provide services for people with developmental disabilities.

The 2013-14 state budget included a $90 million cut to the Office for People With Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD).  The new agreement will ensure that if the state is unable to achieve administrative savings and other efficiencies to avoid payment reductions to providers, a portion of the budget cuts will be restored.

The Senate and Assembly are expected to vote on the bill this week.
