Last Monday, Comptroller Tom DiNapoli announced the release of a report which found that overtime earnings at state agencies increase by nearly 11% in 2012, to $529 million.

The largest increases were at those state agencies that operate large institutional facilities – the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD), the Office of Mental Health (OMH) and the Department of Corrections and Community Supervision (DOCCS).

This is obviously an issue that the state needs to do a better job of managing.
