Chautauqua County Executive Will Not Run for Re-Election, or for Governor

Last Friday, two-term Chautauqua County Executive Greg Edwards announced that he does not plan to run for a third term this fall.  He also said that he will not run for Governor in 2014.

Westchester County Executive’s Race

Last Wednesday, New Rochelle Mayor Noam Bramson defeated Westchester County Board of Legislators Chairman Ken Jenkins of Yonkers to secure the Democratic Party’s nomination for County Executive.  Bramson will face incumbent Republican County Executive Rob Astorino in this fall’s election.

Orange County Executive Will Not Run for Re-Election

Three-term Orange County Executive Ed Diane, who initially indicated that he planned to run for re-election this fall, announced this week that he will not seek re-election. Diana cited health issues as the primary reason.

Three candidates have announced that they are running for the office.  Two Republican town supervisors will face off in a primary — Warwick Supervisor Michael Sweeton and Chester Supervisor Steve Neuhaus.  The winner will face Democratic county legislator Roxanne Donnery in November.
