On Thursday, Gov. Cuomo announced the beginning of construction on a number of bridge projects throughout the state, part of his NY Works program. The state is investing $44.5 million in projects to either completely replace bridges or install new concrete decks on 15 bridges.
Gov. Cuomo said:
“Through the NY Works program, the State is investing in critical infrastructure projects to repair our roads and bridges while creating jobs and generating local economic activity. These 15 projects which include both rehabilitating and replacing bridges across the state will make traveling in New York safer for drivers and achieve long-term savings for taxpayers.”
We are pleased to know that the Administration is moving forward with these important projects. In addition to getting people working, it’s important that we maintain and improve our infrastructure. And it is just as important that these projects get done using the Design Build process.
