On Friday, the Division of Budget and the Legislative leaders agreed on a revenue forecast for the 2013-14 budget year.  They found that there is an additional $200 million to spend beyond what Gov. Cuomo proposed in his original Executive Budget proposal.

Last Wednesday, Gov. Cuomo met with the three legislative leaders (Assembly Speaker Silver and Senate Majority Coalition Leaders, Senators Dean Skelos and Jeff Klein) to discuss budget progress.

In post-meeting interviews, all agreed that an on-time budget was a priority.  Gov. Cuomo referenced “a number of issues on the table that are challenging, that are controversial,” that may be taken up post-budget.  Among these issues are his proposal to increase the state’s minimum wage and his casino expansion plan.
