We’ve written about the state’s looming debt burden before.  Read State Comptroller Tom Di
Napoli’s recent editorial in the NY Post, in which he compares New York State to “a shopper whose holiday spending maxed out the credit card…”

We share the Comptroller’s concerns about the state’s high debt burden.  In terms of a solution, the answers are obvious – stop taking new debt that isn’t absolutely necessary, and start reducing our debt burden.  We should be paying for those things we need today (like good schools), rather than spending our hard-earned tax dollars on debt service.
