Gov. Cuomo continued his statewide economic development tour last week, visiting Rochester and the Mohawk Valley.  The Governor’s tour, in which he plans to visit all 10 of the state’s Regional Economic Development Council (REDC) regions, was interrupted by Hurricane Sandy.

Last Tuesday, Gov. Cuomo visited Rochester, which is part of the Finger Lakes region. He toured the Eastman Business Park, a 1,200-acre facility that the REDC is hoping to turn into an advanced energy research and development facility.  In 2011, the Finger Lakes region was awarded $68.8 million.  The Council’s progress report and full list of endorsed priority projects for 2012 can be found here.

Last Wednesday, Gov. Cuomo visited the Mohawk Valley region.  He visited the Griffiss Utilities Services Corp. BioEnergy Plant and the Marcy Nanocenter Infrastructure site. In 2011, the Mohawk Valley council was awarded $60.2 million for 59 projects. The Council’s progress report and full list of endorsed priority projects for 2012 can be found here.
