The Senate Republican Conference is scheduled to meet in Albany on Tuesday, Dec. 11.

On Tuesday, Dec. 11, the Assembly Racing and Wagering Committee will hold a public hearing on the impact of video lottery terminals (VLTs) on New York racetracks and the state budget.

On Wednesday, Dec. 12, the Assembly Higher Education Committee will hold a public hearing to examine the impact that increasing college costs, at both public and private colleges, are having on New York State students and their families.

On Wednesday, Dec. 12, the Buffalo Niagara Partnership will hold a meeting to provide an update on the $1 billion Gov. Cuomo has committed to spending for economic development in Buffalo.  The program features BNP President & CEO Andrew Rudnick, along with Howard Zemsky, Co-Chair of the WNY Regional Economic Development Council and Christina Orsi of Empire State Development.

On Monday, Dec. 17, the Assembly Committees on Economic Development, Job Creation, Commerce and Industry, Small Business and Oversight, and Analysis and Investigation will hold a public hearing to review the impacts of the 2012-13 state budget on economic development programs.

On Monday, Dec. 17, the Thruway Authority Board will meet at a time and location to be determined.

Also on Mon., Dec. 17, New York State’s presidential electors meet to cast their votes in the Electoral College.

On January 9, 2013, the 2013 Legislative session commences with the Governor’s State of the State Address in Albany.

On February 12, 2013 the Design Build Institute of America, and the Council for Public Private Partnership will host a workshop “Private Resources for New York’s Future: Public Private Partnerships” at Hotel Albany. More information is available here.
