As if we needed any reminder about the challenges we face in Upstate New York, last week the Tax Foundation released a report which found that New York’s tax climate is the worst in the nation.

The report argues that state’s individual income tax, unemployment insurance taxes and sky-high property taxes create a difficult situation for both businesses and homeowners.

This report shows that we have a very long way to go before we can say that we have turned the corner and is a timely reminder of the need to elect pro-business, pro-growth candidates in this year’s elections. It’s about time that we started to fix our tax and regulatory structure so that we can create jobs and stop making young people our top export.
