The New York State Board of Regents meets in Albany on Oct. 9 and 10.  Read the agenda here.

Oct. 12 is the last day to register to vote for the November 6 general election.  Also, any voters who wish to change their political party enrollment for the 2013 primary elections must do so by Oct. 12.

On Tuesday, Oct. 16, Hofstra University will host the Presidential Debate at its Hempstead campus.

On Oct. 17 through 19, the Business Council of New York State, Inc. hosts its annual Industry-Environment Conference at the Gideon Putnam Resort and Spa in Saratoga. Joseph Martens, the commissioner of the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) is expected to participate in the event.

On Tuesday, Oct. 23, the Senate Standing Committee on Energy and Telecommunications holds a public hearing in Stony Point, Rockland County, to “determine and analyze the Champlain Hudson Power Express and its impact on the residents of the Town of Stony Point.”

The New York State MWB Forum to be held in Albany from Oct. 25 through 27. It is billed as the “largest statewide business opportunities event for Small Businesses, including Minority & Women Business Enterprises (MWBEs) and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs).”

Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 6.
