Last Tuesday, Gov. Cuomo heard progress updates from the state’s 10 regional economic development councils.

This fall, the regional councils will be competing for $762 million in state aid and tax breaks. Five awards of $25 million will be made to the top plans. The councils are scheduled to submit their top projects for review by the state on Sept. 24.

The REDC process is one that appears to be working.  We are pleased to see progress on specific projects, as well as the emphasis on regional cooperation, which has brought new energy to the state’s economic development efforts.
