Last Thursday, Gov. Cuomo announced the launch of the second phase of the NY Open for Business marketing campaign, a $12 million national ad buy highlighting the state’s economic opportunities.

The effort includes a new web portal for resources for businesses, and a new set of television advertisements on Thursday, featuring actor Robert DeNiro and highlighting businesses from across the state.

In announcing the new campaign, the governor said:

“By sending the message that New York is the place for businesses to come and thrive, we can deliver on our number one priority: creating jobs, jobs, jobs.  We are competing against many other states that have been working for years to entice businesses but it is time for the business community to realize that our state is the place for them to succeed and prosper.”

New York has long been home to some of the world’s greatest companies, large and small.   Over the past 18 months, we have taken great strides toward fostering job growth, investment and innovation.  While we still have a great deal of work to do, there is much that we can be proud of in New York.  My hope is that this effort will help begin attracting jobs to our region once again.
