Unshackle Upstate will be participating in two public forums this week.  Tomorrow we will be a panelist at a USA Niagara event on Mandate Relief for Local Governments.  And on Tuesday will be in Otsego County where we will sit on a panel with Senator Seward and Assemblyman Magee discussing the current problems with the Workers Compensation system and what must be done to help employers and injured workers.

The Senate and Assembly are in session next Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

On Monday, June 11, the Senate Education Committee will hold a public hearing on student assessments.

On Monday, June 25, the State Department of Financial Services will hold a public hearing on a proposed workers’ compensation insurance 2012 loss cost increase of 11.5 percent that was filed with the Department of Financial Services by the New York Compensation Insurance Rating Board, to be effective October 1, 2012.

New York State’s Congressional primaries will be held on Tuesday, June 26.

The Empire State Development Corporation (ESDC) is holding training workshops to provide an overview of the state’s Consolidated Funding Application (CFA) process and how to apply for economic development funding from multiple agency programs through a single application.

New York State will be holding job fairs as part of the NY Works Program in various cities Upstate:

–          Wed., June 20 – Rochester

–          Thurs., June 21 – Buffalo

–          Fri., June 22 — Binghamton
