The Senate and Assembly are in session Wednesday and Thursday this week. There are just 13 days left in the legislative session, which is scheduled to end on June 21.
Friday, June 1 is the application deadline for the Empire State Fellows program. The new program “is designed to attract talented professionals with demonstrated leadership potential who want to refocus their careers on public service.” Fellows will work for two years at a salary of up to $72,765 while also studying at the Rockefeller Institute of Government.
On Monday, June 11, the Senate Education Committee will hold a public hearing on student assessments.
The Joint Commission on Public Ethics (JCOPE) will be holding a public hearing in Albany on Thursday, June 7 “for the development of guidelines and regulations relating to new disclosure requirements for lobbyists and clients of lobbyists pursuant to The Public Integrity Reform Act of 2011.”
New York State’s Congressional primaries will be held on Tuesday, June 26.
